Fizzeh
I am using 9a321 and Final Cut won't open. I am working on a short film that I has been on hiatus since the beggining of December (before the new build). When I try to open my files (and their backups) in 10.4.8 with all the Final Cut updates, I get a message saying corrupt or too new of a file. Some older Final Cut projects do open on 10.4.8. Any ideas? Thanks! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38263-final-cut-pro/ Share on other sites
Fizzeh
Thankfully I figured out a temporary fix... I installed 9a283 onto an external partition, and it worked there! Whew... Adrian Fogge
Yep, 321 had all kinds off issues with "project files" becoming corrupted... Mostly it was with xCode though. Glad you got the problem fixed. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/38263-final-cut-pro/#findComment-274296 Share on other sites
Fizzeh
Well, I still can't open FCP on 9a321 so any ideas about that would be quite helpful. I have do it through a 9a283 partition...not the end of the world. I was hoping that 9axxx would have come out yesterday, but it appears like it did not. I thought that may have fixed it. Adrian Fogge
My thoughts are that the problem would lie with the Quicktime build included in 9a321. It had all kinds of issues compared to previous releases, including the inability to play back audio from most video files. As FCP is based very heavily on Quicktime, it could be that it is where the problem lies. Maybe copy the Quicktime application over from 9a283 along with the support files from /System/Library/Quicktime over the version present in 9a321. Personally, I would want to try 9a303 if I had them avaliable so you had a version that worked with iTunes 7. Just a guess, but it could work for you.
