mystlynx
My Motherboard(details in my signature): North bridge:ATI RC410 South bridge:ATI SB450 AC97 codec:Realtek ALC655(DeviceID:4370 VendorID:1002) My operating system: JaS.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE3.SSE2 that release at Jan/3/2007 I tried everything in that thread titled "ATI AC 97 Sounds (SB400) effort", but my ALC655 still can't get working. PS:My system always load AppleAC97AudioATIIXP.kext and AppleAC97AudioVIA.kext both. so I remove one of them. When I use atisound.tar.bz2 (Tariq Firoz's build) with AppleAC97AudioATIIXP.kext(I have changed IOPCIPrimaryMatch with 43701002), I got error messages: Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: AppleAC97AudioATIIXP::attachCodecDevices: Cannot create codec device 0Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: AppleAC97AudioATIIXP::attachCodecDevices: Cannot create codec device 1 Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: AppleAC97AudioATIIXP::createCodecDevice: Creating Codec 2 device Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: AppleAC97AudioATIIXP::codecRead: Codec 2 read timed out Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: IOAC97CodecDevice: VendorID read error Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: AppleAC97AudioATIIXP::attachCodecDevices: Cannot create codec device 2 Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: AppleAC97AudioATIIXP::attachCodecDevices: Cannot create codec device 3 Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: AppleAC97AudioATIIXP::start: No codecs attached Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: Apple16X50ACPI1: Identified Serial Port on ACPI Device=UAR1 Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: Apple16X50UARTSync1: Detected 16550AF/C/CF FIFO=16 MaxBaud=115200 Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: display: family specific matching fails When I use atisound.tar.bz2 (Tariq Firoz's build) with AppleAC97AudioVIA.kext(I have changed IOPCIPrimaryMatch with 43701002), I got error messages: Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: AppleAC97AudioVIA::start(0x3154700)Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: START PROVIDER OK Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: Sanity check fail Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: provider configure fail Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: AppleAC97AudioVIA::free Jan 7 20:12:30 localhost kernel[0]: START PROVIDER OK I also tried thedopfishlives' build, but didn't get working. When I load AppleAC97AudioATIIXP.kext use kextload, I got messages "CFBundle not matching"...something, I can't remember. Before 1 minute I tried other one, but still don't working. EdFlyer
I'm not sure what the latest source you are using is. Follow the instructions that Mohd Yusuf left, he seemed to have gotten it down. Post into that thread as there are several people that watch it. -EdFlyer (one of the devs on that driver) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37996-alc655-ac97-codec-doesnt-work/#findComment-272341 Share on other sites
