dekuknight
Ok, so i obtained the jas 10.4.7 osx86 iso image burned it to a dvd+r partitioned a separate 20 gig harddrive to the id=af filesystem popped in the dvd and booted to it pressed f8 and entered "-v" at darwin saw a bunch of lines of code and then it stopped. frozen. It kind of sat there when the screen was about 80% full. didn't see any "error" messages i'm using amd64 3400 with sse3 did i do something wrong? (I hope i supplied enough info) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37960-problem-with-boot/ Share on other sites

Overclocked Tardis
What options did you select during the install? Did you just click on Easy Install? Did you select AMD or Intel patches to install? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37960-problem-with-boot/#findComment-270522 Share on other sites
dekuknight
naa, this is different than aaronbm's problem --> my computer is not restarting. it just hangs while booting (without -v you see the apple and the circle rotating forever) i never even got to the options to install. EDIT: oh, i'm using "Mac-OS-X-10.4.7-AMD.Intel-(JaS)-ISO-Repack" Edited January 7, 2007 by dekuknight Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37960-problem-with-boot/#findComment-270544 Share on other sites

Hacy
I think i have a similar problem with dekuknight. I downloaded and burned the old JaS ISO, checked and rechecked it, botted Darwin and the installer. I tweaked some of the customisable options (like adding AMD kernel and etc), started the installation but at some point it just froze (even the bar animation stopped). I tryed it several more times, even using the default install but it kept freezing at some point of installing the files on my harddrive. I thought it might have been a faulty image, because i couldn't get the torrent file from demonoid, so i went to The Pirate Bay, downloaded the TubGirl 1048 AMD iso, again burned, checked and rechecked it and tryed installing MacOS X with it. For my surprise the installed froze again. It freezes on extracting files - eighter essential components or base system. My current PC configuration is: ASUS A8N-E with nForce4 chipset SATA HDD Baracuda 160Gb AMD64 3200+ nVidia GeForce 6600 256Mb Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37960-problem-with-boot/#findComment-270555 Share on other sites
