gotoh
you should partition your HD first with fdisk or windows management tool. then clone your OSX partition with OS X disk utility, and clone your XP partition using ghost or acronis. I did it several times, it works perfect. you might need to set active partition with fdisk from OSX command line to have your new HD able to boot to OS X... realfolkblues
Acronis can clone the osx installed on your drive. However it CANT resize it. So there is not much point. The windows Acronis does fine. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37901-cloning-question/#findComment-270096 Share on other sites

realfolkblues
only if you select it, acronis lets you select what to clone. Weather you want the whole drive, or just a partition. pehy
Before doing anything don't forget to build a boot CD containing Acronis tools. If you have a problem (not being able to boot from the HD) just boot from this CD and active the partition to boot or install OS selector... An error may occurs so BUILT THIS CD Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37901-cloning-question/#findComment-270137 Share on other sites
Guest goodtime
im planning to clone my disk.. the one that im using!! its a 40G HD with OS X and XP(Dual Boot)!! if i clone it using acronis on my XP, will it clone all my HD partition including the OS X partition? how about doing it on my OS X partition using clonetool, will it clone all my HD partition including the XP partition? hope u guys can help me!! thanks!! Currently, Clonetool can only clone an OS X Partition including System files, and the User Directory to a 2nd Hard disk that is partitioned with a Master Boot Record (MBR, FDisk_Partition Scheme) and formatted as HFS+. Down the road, the 3rd version of CT Hatchery is planned to Clone NTFS Partitions. Right now it is only works with HFS+ Partitions. The 2nd Version of Clonetool will still only work with HFS+ partitions/OSX but will feature a GUI and have more error checking. gt Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37901-cloning-question/#findComment-270233 Share on other sites
