tha_toadman
Well I managed to get a functional install of 10.4.8 on my machine but it was much more intense than a 10.4.7 install, that's for sure! Anyway, I used to have sleep working in my x.4.7 install but now w/ x.4.8 (via egwan's easy update), my sleep now locks when it tries to wake from sleep...? this is the only missing component of my install that would make it [my machine] fully functional. Has anyone else experienced this? Or is there a solution that I haven't found yet? Thanks. TheQuantumByte
Lots of us have that problem. You can check out the Insomnia kext. Works for some and not at all for others. Do a search. realfolkblues
I just turn off sleep option. I usually have a downlaod going or somthing when i'm away anyways so i dont want it to sleep. I do leave the HD, shut off, and Screen shut off options on tho... tha_toadman
Isaac, I think you've misunderstood what I was after... They (laptops) typically enter "sleep" mode when the lid is put down - this disables that behavior. That's what "insomnia.kext" will do. Why d/l a .kext when I can simply disable sleeping under 'System Preferences'? I don't mind if the machine sleeps or not, I just want it to wake properly but it doesn't seem to work [out of the box] from sleeping. If others are experiencing this too, then I'll just wait or try to investigate with them. I know for a fact, that my JaS 10.4.7 install did wake from sleeping though. jester1o1
I am having the same problem since upgrading to 4.8 - S1 sleep works ok, but S3 crashes the machine (deep sleep). Any recommendations appreciated! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37822-1048-and-waking-from-sleep/#findComment-275531 Share on other sites
