sg Posted January 5, 2007 Share Posted January 5, 2007 .sit = stuffit expander archive. its what macs used until 10.3-10.4 when apple started to push the zip format and stop inculding stuffit expander with new Macs. you could go download stuffit expander, however i suggest simply getting and installing this : http://wakaba.c3.cx/s/apps/unarchiver.html its called 'The Unarchiver' and its a replacement for the helper app that is used to open .zip files. it will handle .rar, .sit and almost any other format out there, and it acts and looks just like the one the finder uses.
