Hi

Installed JAS DVD 10.4.8 onto my Asus P5W DH board complete with a Geforce 7900GTO (MSI) and it was working great apart from some screen corruption when scrolling the finder.

I installed Titan via the appropriate directions and rebooted. Now after the desktop finishes loading I get this funny REBOOT graphical screen like the kernel has crashed.

Searching the forums I see this is a common problem with the 512mb cards. My problem is how to I remove Titan without a complete reinstall?

I tried booting in Safe mode (hold down shift) and it does go a lot further but I just end up with a Black Screen at the end. The system seems operational, but its not much use if I can't see whats on it.

Is there anyway to remove Titan in this situation without having to completely rebuild it again? Or is there anyway to remotely connect to the OS from my other machine and remove it?

Thanks

Steddyman

Please go easy on me. This is my first experience of the Mac and OSX86

boot with -s (single user mode)

/sbin/fsck -fy

/sbin/mount -uw /

sudo -s

password

cd /system/library/extensions

rm -R titan.kext

cd /system/library

rm -R extensions.kextcache

rm -R extensions.mkext

reboot

Sorry for being stupid, but how to I boot with -S?

I tried holding down CTRL-S at startup and that did nothing. Still got the reboot message.

I select Mac OSX from my Vista dual boot menu and it goes straigt into the Darwin boot loader then seconds later into the white graphical boot screen. I don't get a prompt to type anything anywhere.

Thanks for the detailed info on how to remove the extensions, it is appreciated.
