stevenD
I got a Dell Latitude D620 atwork. Is it possible to install OS X on an external firewire disk without touching the internal drive where XP already is installed? I've been looking for a guide on this, but all I can find is guides that explain dual boot on a single partitioned drive. I want to use XP on the internal drive when I'm at work, but when I get home I'd like to plug in the firewire drive and boot in OS X. Possible? chevy2410
If that dell can boot from the firewire drive, then I can't see why it wouldn't work. The problem might getting OS X installed on that drive. Connect it up and see if you can see that firewire drive when the OS X install disk starts the install process. Good Luck, Chevy Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37565-install-on-external-firewire-disk/#findComment-267366 Share on other sites
stevenD
Isn't there any need for a special magic bootloader thingy that has to be installed on the internal drive? If so, I'd rather not do it, because if I {censored} it up I'd be in trouble.
