yoda75
I have an older intel SSE2 machine which has the incompatible Intel 865 chipset. To make things even worse, my mobo doesn't even have AGP available and there is not a lot of info on compatible PCI graphics cards. I was wondering if I'd still have display problems if I ran the hackintosh remotely from a Powerbook on my LAN? My goal is to install the server packages and use the services from that setup so a snappy GUI is not really important to me. I think I could probably finish the installation pretty easily and with Apple Remote Desktop 3 the client installer package would make configuration a snap. I was just wondering if I would be looking at a clean desktop in the end or the grey pixelated mess that I'm encountering during the install process Edited January 3, 2007 by yoda75 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37481-will-this-work/ Share on other sites

Guest bikedude880
Concerning PCI graphics cards, the nVidia FX5200 is a good card. It supports QE/CI and isn't that expensive. On the other hand, what you are suggesting would require a dedicated ethernet (assuming it works on your board) connection for best results. I'm not sure how well it would work though.
