cringemaster
I recently got an external 160 GB HD and have partitioned it so that I have 2 Partitons, and am using SuperDuper to run automated backups. I also installed rEFIt for the cool bootloader and to help organize the boot process for when i set up linux and windoze. The problem is, right now, whenever i reboot, rEFIt auto selects the external drive that is being used as a backup to boot off of. Ive tried messing with the .conf file and i cant figure out how to specify the default drive. Maybe rEFIt isnt able to do so yet, but Ive already read the documentation and i cant find a solution. Thanks. Edited January 1, 2007 by ResXhacker Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37338-refit-default-boot-drive-setting/ Share on other sites
cringemaster
Ive even tried alphabetically, by naming the drive I want with an A, and the backup as B, and that doesnt work either. asap18
Well, I dont know about you, but I have refit installed on my EFI partition. But I was looking through the conf file on it and it had a legacy first option to set windows or linux first. It also said it was a quick hack, in order to stand as an option before "real" customization was made. erbic
Yeah, I'd like to do this. If I boot up with my external drive switched on, rEFIt tries to boot off my Leopard HD partition on the external. Which means I can't just turn on the computer and walk away, because it'll boot into Leopard. Which I usually don't want.
