tronica
I have Jas 10.4.7 installed with the intel combo update and SSE3. I noticed that it says i have an up for 10.4.8, is it safe for me to upgrade that way. Prawker
Chizzer is right, never install core updates through Apple's built-in updater. Those updates were made for an honest to god Macintosh. However its perfectlly fine to install software updates through it, things like iTunes and Quicktime. If you want to update to 10.4.8, then use the Jas updater Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37290-1047-to-1048/#findComment-265625 Share on other sites

benni
So now we found out that we shouldn't use the Apple-Provided Software. Could somebody give me a tiny hint what (file) I have to look for to update my "hackintosh"? kovpas
Here's the way to update your 10.4.7 to 10.4.8 safely. Just updated, following to this instruction. Seems, that all works fine, except of "About this Mac" menu item. And HERE is proper link to Apple 10.4.8 combo update.
