Only one thing i couldnt make out: I deleted alle ATI* kexts an the mouse artefacts were gone. Here the deteils: Display: Type: VGA-Compatible Controller Bus: PCI VRAM (Total): 128 MB Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x4e54 Revision ID: 0x0080 Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded Displays: Display: Resolution: 1400 x 1050 Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Not Supported Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported So, as you can see, no kext is loaded for my ATI Mobility FireGL T2 (which is a mobility 9600). Bart86 Posted December 29, 2006 Share Posted December 29, 2006 Well, I think because you deleted your ATI* kexts you are now using a VESA Generic VGA driver with absolutley no acceleration at all. There is zero chance of enabling QE or Core Image with the VESA driver. Bart86 Posted December 30, 2006 Share Posted December 30, 2006 No - at best, with alot of research and work you might get QE/CI but with mouse tearing, which I understand can be reduced greatly with various techniques. I have a T41p too, but I'm going to leave XP and soon Vista on it - thier just better suited to it. good luck. mighel Posted January 7, 2008 Share Posted January 7, 2008 @adaminc I've installed leo kalyway 10.5.1 on my laptop, I've ATI Mobility Fire GL T2 (IBM Thinkpad T42p) but no QE/CI? Could you please give me a hint to enable the features? I've tried to install Natit ATI but all I get is a stucked PC and black screen. many thanks! ciao!
