x86rev
I'm looking at getting a new proc. It appears that my Intel D945GNTLKR will NOT support Core2Duo......... What Ive been lookin at is the Intel Pentium D 945-950 Dual Core. The question I have is that it appears that the 945 proc has 4 megs of cache (2x2) and the 950 has a straight 4 meg. What, if any (noticeable) difference would there be in performance. Or any other input would be much appreciated. eggie
all Pentium D's have 2 x 2mg of L2 cache.... looking at the Intel site the only difference between the 2 processors are that the 945 doesn't have Intel VT and the 950 does + the 950 is generally a slight bit more pricey i would go with the 945 the performance difference would be nothing unless you need to use the virtualization extensions that the 950 offers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/37019-intel-pentium-d-945-dual-core/#findComment-263259 Share on other sites
