Well,

I tried installing with my ideal customized package and a "failed install" message came up. So i look'd 'bout a little bit and found out the basic way to do the install, so i installed the software with only the top box (greyed-out) and the intel combo package, sse2 and sse3 (i think it is sse?). Anywho, I only had 4 boxes checked, which allowed it to install fine (which was ok cos i heard that you can install some bits later inside mac so i was fine about missing some things i wanted to install). But then the real bad SHIZZLE, I boot up the mac and i get some strange goings on, first a black screen (computer is busy - light flashing), mouse appears ((computer is busy - light flashing still) then a blue screen (computer is busy - light flashing) then another black screen (computer is'nt busy - light not on) then a blue screen (first blue screen was for about half a second the second is for longer 5-6 secs) and the rainbow swirl comes on (computer is busy - light flashing) the the black screen appears with loads of randomly shaped blue boxes with a white bar which seems to grow longer (like a progress bar) then the random boxes on the black screen change to a different alignment. then it goes back to a black screen after some time and THATS IT.

THE WIERD THING IS THAT THE COMPUTER SEEMS TO BE DOING WHAT IT SHOULD (IN MAC) BUT THE COMPUTER DOESNT SEEM TO BE DISPLAYING IT CORRECTLY...I THINK.

Thanks

Drakhra

Fairplay;

I have an Intel processer which i know nothing about as i do not know how to boot into windows since the unsucsessful installation of OS X.

My graphics chipset is unknown also but i have a ATI Radon X800

my motherboard i think is a dell one

Sorry and thanks

When you turn your computer enter into the set up to find your processor. (On dell I believe it's F2) Then apparently you have an internet connection, google your processor and see if it is SSE2 or SSE3, although it already appears it isn't SSE3 from your previous installation.

SAME EXCACT PROBLEM with SSE2 ARGH

This is starting to {censored} me off as i also cannot boot into windows as it has messed up since i tried to install Mac (i have 2 Hdd's Windows xp home on D: and f***ed up mac on C:)

ARGHHH

BOTH SSE2 AND 3 BOTH DONT WORK

Try installing and selecting only Intel Combo update and Intel SSE2.

To boot into Windows, you need to set your Windows partition "active". You can use any Windows/Linux disk/partition utility on a boot CD or use Fdisk from the OSX install DVD.

Since you have two hard drives, you need to select your Windows hard drive in BIOS as the first one to boot.
