FeuerFrei
Hey all, I've been reading around on the forums for sometimes now, and I decided to try installing OSX on my Inspiron 6400. My others experiences with OSX86 were with 10.4.4 Dev. Edition, so I'm a bit familiar with the whole thing. Today I tried installing using JaS's 10.4.8 DVD (Demonoïd). Everything goes fine, the install and all. It reboots, shows the grey Apple logo, then the screen just turns off (no HDD activity whatsoever). I tried hooking up an external monitor, and this time the monitor became blue (same color as the installer background, then no HDD activity) but I still couldn't boot past the grey boot screen. Here's my config: Core 2 Duo T5500 1gb RAM Radeon X1400 945M 60Gb SATA HDD I did customize the install with the following options: JaS 10.4.8 Update Sempthex Kernel (tried the other one too) x1x00 PCI-E support Sigmatel 92x0 support Can anyone help me? Bettlebob
FeuerFrei I have the same issue. I have a different video card in my Dell Inspiron but when I boot normally I have the same black and white bars. When I boot in safe mode (-x) the system works fine. I have tried Titan, Natit, MacVidia and no luck with any of the programs. I installed the same packages as you (minus the ATI and Sound). And the same results. So if you find a fix please let me know. n000b
Try disable the dual core in BIOS, I had the same problem when installaing JaS 10.4.7, after I turned off the dual core in BIOS, the system booted successfully.
