i ghosted a copy of working 10.4.8 to my laptop

changed the kernel with sse2 fix for my centrino dothan

but it cant boot then

it told me that "using 2621buffer headers and 2621 cluster IObuffer headers"

;):unsure::unsure:

whats wrong with it? the kernel? the kext or anything else?

I think the system you ghosted is a SSE3 system. It needs some old kext to make SEE2 working. Below is what I did:

1. Freshly installed JaS 10.4.7.

2. Applied JaS 10.4.8 SEE2 Combo Update patch and reboot.

3. Copied AppleACPIPlatform.kext, AppleAPIC.kext, IOACPIFamily.kext and IOAudioFamily.kext to desktop.

4. Applied JaS SSE2 Beta9 patch to 10.4.8 SSE2 working installation

5. Before reboot, deleted r2d2, AppleACPIPlatform.kext, AppleAPIC.kext, IOACPIFamily.kext and IOAudioFamily.kext

6. Moved AppleACPIPlatform.kext, AppleAPIC.kext, IOACPIFamily.kext and IOAudioFamily.kext back to Extensions folder

7. Copied Exp6 kernel (ex. mach_kernel.s6) to root and set permission

(sudo chown root:wheel mach_kernel.s6

sudo chmod 644 mach_kernel.s6)

8. Repaired disk permissions and prebinding things

9. Reboot with mach_kernel.s6

P.S. The reason to cause IO buffer error is AppleACPIPlatform.kext and AppleAPIC.kext.
