Sentertainment
Here's a link to start off with: http://www.chaintechusa.com/tw/eng/product...No=13&PISNo=318 Ok, I've got a fairly nice setup (if you consider the fact that its a value PC, yes...it is NICE) 1GB DDR400 939pin Athlon 64 3000+ (OC'ed .5ghz, very cool and stable) Chaintech nForce4 Motherboard Integrated nForce Gigabit LAN Integrated nVidia 7.1 Sound (Realtek AC'97) SATA Toshiba Dual-Layer DVD+RW PCIe Chaintech NIVIDIA GeForce 6200 PS2 Wireless Keyboard & Optical Mouse and some cheap wireless card (Forgot the actual model, but the generic Realtek RTL8180 WLAN drivers work) Well, I've looked up alot of this stuff...it took me forever to get a good patch too...well, its now installed. BUT, as I said, thats just the beginning! ALMOST NONE OF MY HARDWARE WORKS! Wiki says: - SATA on nForce are out of question...don't work. - Many AC'97 Chipsets don't work...many have been reported fixed with changing driver stuff around. (Card not detected, but still says Built-in Audio) - My wireless card doesn't work, which is wierd, because I've managed to get it working somewhat in linux. - My DVD Burner is detected and such, but the "About this Mac" profile says "Burning Support: Yes (unsupported)" - No LAN card detected at all! - No 1280x1024 Resolution, not even 800x600...only shows 1024x768. Now you guys know about what works w/ the Chaintech VNF4 and what doesn't... So...Can anyone help me out? Oh, yeah...forgot to tell you guys something... Check out this cool site (warning, Broadband highly reccomended) http://osx.portraitofakite.com/

Sentertainment
Ok, well I got a lot fixed... I knew about SATA not being supported AT ALL, that's a no-brainer even for me. Well, now I have some Video Acceleration by Installing the NVidia.kext file, just one huge problem... I cannot get my sound files working, I've tried modifying the info files, but it actually says there is a driver missing for it. I really don't know what to do! I'm not even sure to use the IntelICH or AMD, I tried both, but no luck... Could you possibly upload the driver files I need and tell me where to put the Dev ID, I'm a bit lost. Also, I have no support for different resolutions...I'm going to try to fix that as I saw a few threads about it, as for the sound, I do need help. IDK if this would be of any use, but here is my Sound Dev ID: 0xfebfd000 So here's what I'm working on: -Sound -Other Resolution Support and here's what I need to do next: -Get my Trendnet TEW-228PI (11mbps) WLAN card working! (or better yet, my LAN)

Sentertainment
I got my dev ID in kUbuntu Linux. Anyways, I'm wondering about the driver because mine is an AMD machine!? do I still use the Intel drivers? Also, there were topics about fixed drivers and had them for download...are the Darwin drivers more compatable? I'm just tried so many things, I don't feel like going through those same steps with 2-5 different files...if you know what I mean. As for the Device ID...I am a bit confused, my sound does work in kUbuntu, it says it's using ALSA drivers or something in kUbuntu...if that makes a difference. I remember MEPIS linux didn't support my sound, but I believe it still used ALSA. Just thought I'd hand out a bit of info. -------------EDIT------------- Update: I looked up a bit more about using the drivers, well...I used the intel one and it works just fine....only one problem, I have 5.1 surround sound (hardware supports up to 7.1)...Right now I only have 2.0 sound. Is it possible to get full surround sound support? As for the device ID, you were right...I even used dxdiag to double check, and yeah...ALSA I guess must have wrapped or routed the audio some way under linux. Now I need help with my WLAN and resolution support. (and the surround sound, if possible)

(and the surround sound, if possible) I also have a nForce4 onboard Audio with 7.1 but Mac OS X only works with Stereo setting, I have 5.1 speakers connected and the woofer works, so it's working in a 2.1 setting an there is no way to control it. The only card that I saw tha has other settings is the Realtek ACL860 (Azalia kext used). As for the WLAN some broadcom chipset works.
Sentertainment
Ok, now what about my resolution? I have the macvidia alpha driver installed and it works...
macgirl
The MacVidia driver is just a test driver, it doesn't permit changing resolutions on the fly, some cards can do 1280x1024x32 some just 1024x768x32 and now I read some just 800x600, I can't change my refresh rate even with the boot patch. The only way to get a specific reolution is with boot parameters, even at boot writing "Graphics Mode"="widthXheightXdepth@refresh" or putting in com.apple.Boot.plist file.
