peekay_us
I managed to install the 10.4.8 JaS and get to a working desktop. However, the first time I reboot the computer, I get a 'still waiting for root device.' When I boot with the rd=disk0s1 option, I get a kernel panic. I have an e6300 and an ECS P4M800PRO-M (V2.0) mobo. I installed the Intel update, semthex kernel, VIA, and 10.4.4 login packages. And it's a PATA drive. Any help would be much appreciated, as I'm not sure what else to try. Thanks in advance, Peekay Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36302-kernel-panic-after-install/ Share on other sites
kuja
This is a common symptom of many. I have this all the time, in fact the remedy for this... at least for me is to boot with "-f" You can do this by pressing F8 real quick before the boot loader tries to boot OSX. Once you're in the boot prompt, try typing "-f -v" (without the quotes) and booting with those options.
