Dell Inspiron 9300. Who has gotten what to work? whats the most current software for us?

Hi. First of all I am a newbie to here but not to technology. I just need a few points to guide me in the right direction. Here is what my computer has.

 

Dell Inspiron 9300

 

> Mainboard : Dell Inc.

> Chipset : Intel i910/915PM

> Processor : Intel Pentium M 730 @ 1600 MHz (not dual core)

> Physical Memory : 1280 MB

> Video Card : Nvidia Corp GeForce 6800 Go [NV41.8]

> Hard Disk : FUJITSU (100 GB)

> DVD-Rom Drive : HL-DT-ST CDRW/DVD GCC4244

> Network Card : Broadcom Corp BCM440x 100Base-TX Fast Ethernet

> Network Card : Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection

> Operating System : Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition 5.01.2600 Service Pack 2

 

It is SSE2, but not SSE3.

 

 

I used the MacOSX_10.4.6_GoatsecxDVD and then used JaS 10.4.8 SSE2 Intel to update to 10.4.8. I then installed macvidia drivers for my card. I have been noticing that there are alot of new releases here such as Nebukadnezar or Pacifist. I am just curious if I should format and try something new. Here are some of the problems I am having.

 

I don't think my video card is is working perfectly. It does go to full resolution of 1440x900. In the MacOS system profiler it states that my video card is not QE/CI. I have heard that there a fix for this.

 

Imovie will start but none of the menus or buttons work. It is not functional.

 

What is the cheapest wireless adapter that will work?

 

Also, I am trying to install a similar setup on my buddy's computer but the semantec audio or whatever it is doesn't work. Is there a fix for this yet or if not what is the cheapest compatible sound card?

 

Finally, Itunes doesn't work on the new 7.0.2 but I have read the problem about that. I guess I am stuck at 6.05 for now.

 

Please let me know the names of wireless cards or soundcards or the names of the programs I need to install to help get me going. Thanks.
