Patrick Ford
I am trying to install macOS Ventura 13.7.x on the following Hackintosh system: Hardware: * * Intel i7-7700K * 64 GB DDR4 * AMD RX 6600 XT (used for Ventura install) * NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti (removed during Ventura installation attempts) * OpenCore 1.0.7 Current SMBIOS: * iMacPro1,1 Current Ventura EFI: * Lilu * WhateverGreen * VirtualSMC * AppleALC * IntelMausi * NVMeFix * RestrictEvents * USBToolBox + UTBMap * SMCSuperIO * SMCProcessor SecureBootModel: * Disabled Boot args: -v keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 alcid=7 agdpmod=pikera npci=0x3000 What I already fixed: * Removed USBInjectAll.kext * Removed NVIDIA boot args * Stabilized SMBIOS * Fixed missing PlatformInfo * Cleaned up Ventura EFI * Reset NVRAM repeatedly * Fully erased target SSD multiple times (GUID/APFS) * Removed GTX 1080 Ti during Ventura install attempts Current behavior: 1. Ventura installer launches successfully from High Sierra. 2. Files copy successfully. 3. System reboots. 4. I boot the temporary “macOS Installer” entry using the cleaned Ventura EFI. 5. Installer fails with: OS.dmg.root_hash x86legacyap.im4m Err(0xE) Sometimes references: \macOS Install Data\Locked Files\Boot Files\BootKernelExtensions.kc I originally suspected EFI issues, but the EFI is now much cleaner and the earlier USBInjectAll fatal errors are gone. Questions: 1. Does this now look more like installer media corruption / stale APFS installer state? 2. Has anyone seen x86legacyap.im4m on a standard Kaby Lake + RX 6600 XT setup? 3. Any Ventura-specific Booter quirks I should reconsider on Z270? 4. Should I remain on iMacPro1,1 or move to iMac19,1 at this stage? 5. Could High Sierra itself be too old to reliably create Ventura installer media? Any suggestions appreciated.
