Might be the fastest update yet (from 15.7.7 Release to 15.7.8 pre-Release).  My config is as follows:

  • SIP fully enabled:  csr-active-config = <00000000>
  • Wi-Fi: Intel, itlwm/Heliport

Still amazes me that this 2010 hackbookpro can run the latest Sequoia.  Posting this with Safari Version 26.5 (20624.2.5.18.3).  Booting with OC 1.0.7 using DhinakG's javascriptcore branch of RestrictEvents.kext (with revpatch=jsc).

After upgrading to macOS Sequoia 15.7.8 (24G809) on my HackBookPro16,2, I was prompted to update Safari to Version 26.6 (20624.4.1.11.1) (Seed 1).  Update appears to have gone well.

EDIT: After the macOS update, I was prompted to update Safari to 26.6 Seed 2.  Safari update proceeded without issues.

Sequoia 15.7.8 (24G817) breaks Norton 360's Transparent Proxy, causing it to block Safari, update checking and other network traffic.  This has happened before and is usually addressed by the next macOS update (possibly an update from Norton).  The temporary solution is to toggle System Settings > Network > Filters > Norton Transparent Proxy.  Toggling it once in a login session resolves the problem for that session.

EDIT: And now 27 Seed 1 (I'm not updating to this yet).

Thanks @deeveedee these Safari seed are for Sequoia or Tahoe.

I received notice of the Sequoia 15.7.8 update.  It's a full update (not incremental) on my HP EliteBook 850 G7 laptop running 15.7.8 (24G817).

Easy Update:

My system specs are as follows:

  • Open Core 1.0.7
  • SIP fully enabled (csr-active-config = <00000000>)
  • Wi-Fi: Intel itlwm/heliport
  • No root patches

EDIT: The Norton Transparent Proxy problem is still an issue.  Must toggle Norton Transparent proxy off and on once per login session to enable network traffic for many apps (including Safari and macOS update checking).

@Thebes Knossos I wasn't saying that you are.  Just letting you know how I got the update.  Wait for the final release if you need to.  The title of this thread is "Pre-release."  When you see that in the thread title, you should assume that enrollment in Beta is required.
