tfacchini
Hello, 1st sorry for my english, Im Brazilian... Well I recently buy a HP COMPAQ DX2090 and the motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-8S661FMX-775 and the HDD is a Samsung HD080HJ/P Serial Ata II, the mobo chipset is SiS. That is my problem, OS X dont recognize the HDD in Boot installation. I try a installation on a separated partition by VMWARE but i dont remember how I make this partition bootable. I try to copy the chain0 file from DVD , but when I boot in Mac OS X mode (boot.ini) I got the following error: "Boot chain error" or something like that. Now I have 2 problems: 1st - How can I make the VMWARE install bootable? 2nd - After boot how can I fix the SATA problem? Other - Is there another way to perform a correct installation for MAC OS X? Best regards, Tfacchini Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/36272-is-possible-install-os-x-on-sata-by-chipset-sis/ Share on other sites

SteveStar
If you have a nforce 4 motherboard you can't install osx in your pc unless you buy a pata hdd But if you have a nforce 3 motherboard it is possible: Try this guide Boot chain error means that your osx partition isn't active so you have to set it active. Perhaps you should read his post first, as he clearly states that he has an SiS chipset and not an nForce one. Your system specs: GA-8S661FXM-775 There is a project going on here that is working on getting SiS ATA/SATA working fully under OS X.
