CC_333
I updated my upgraded hackintosh (Gigabyte Z370p-D3 with Intel Core i5-9600k, 64 GB DDR4 PC4-23466 RAM, AMD Radeon RX 560 GPU, 1 TB Sabrent Rocket Q NVMe SSD) to Catalina from Mojave (I can't go newer because my Firewire audio interface won't work in Big Sur or newer. I've tried), and I'm experiencing some performance problems. I use Adobe Audition 2020 fairly often for editing and production, and when I record with default buffer settings, everything is laggy and samples get dropped. Previously, the same configuration worked flawlessly under Mojave. What is wrong? My config.plist is attached, in case maybe I misconfigured something. c config.plist Edited January 4 by CC_333 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362173-adobe-audition-2020-poor-performance-on-macos-1015-catalina/ Share on other sites

I get to run Firefox ESR 140 instead of ESR 115, and I can run VMware Fusion 12 instead of 11. Other than that, it seems about the same to me. 16 hours ago, verdazil said: For your hardware and outdated version of Adobe Au, the most optimal version of macOS is Mojave. I'm inclined to agree. I've downgraded back to Mojave, and now, aside from a bug that gives me a black screen in the Recovery OS, everything feels smooth again. I guess this is where I'll stay until I can get a better audio interface (FW audio in general was deprecated in Monterey and removed outright in Ventura, and my particular interface's drivers aren't compatible with Big Sur). I tried. c Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/362173-adobe-audition-2020-poor-performance-on-macos-1015-catalina/#findComment-2845888 Share on other sites
