Hello everyone!

I’ve been spending some time trying to bring my older laptop back to life by installing macOS on it, and I’ve honestly been enjoying the process so far. However, I’ve hit a roadblock toward the end of the setup. I’m not completely sure whether I’m actually at the final step of installing the macOS or there is more to tinker (it's my first time approaching apple in any kind) or if I’m missing something, definitely not an expert in this area, so I could use some guidance!

I followed Dortania’s guide throughout the installation, and I’ve included all the relevant attachments and logs for debugging. I also recorded a short video showing the error I’m running into.

I appreciate any help you can offer, and I hope everything is clear. Thanks in advance!

It could be due to the date, the SSD, or the ISO!
In the meantime, try enabling the date.

set back the time using teminal before continuing the setup.

In terminal type: 0101010118

first  thanks, i appreciate your fast replay!
second of all, i tried the time tweak too and sadly .. it didn't work .
i also tried to install it on a completely freshly formatted hard disk since the one i am using has its esp on 5 so i thought a new one would help but again the same error.

Try another iso

i used : https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/installer-guide/linux-install.html#downloading-macos
to install it using python from

# High Sierra (10.13)
python3 ./macrecovery.py -b Mac-7BA5B2D9E42DDD94 -m 00000000000J80300 download
python3 ./macrecovery.py -b Mac-BE088AF8C5EB4FA2 -m 00000000000J80300 download

what is then the best 2nd way doing it?

It would be a good idea to include the type of notebook you have, video card, CPU, etc., and prepare an EFI card suitable for the hardware. Universal EFI cards don't exist, there are many EFI cards around with a whole host of different things, so include your notebook's name in the signature.

I have everything mentioned in sysinfo.txt that I have attached earlier but I didn't quite understand the whole Universal EFI cards thing. I'll definitely check it out tho.

@Mazen Alatrash, I think you need to download a fresh installer image from Apple's servers using any of the well-known utilities.

Yes this what I'm planning to do but as one whom is trying to hackintosh I'm really beginner many things that I am really not familiar with so. Beside the utility that comes with opencore pkg I don't know what else out there.

Edit I tried another utility to download macos recovery.. also didn't succeed same position error again.
