Hey guys, good to be back here after a while!

I've got a new HP Engage Flex Retail System mini pc, until before I have installed everything was working like a charm, aud, vid, lan, wif, nvm and etc . Now, after I've installed Tahoe, I've got no audio, whatever layout id i've chosen for the ALC897 (11, 12, 13, 21, 22, 23, 66, 69, 77, 98, 99) it won't enable the audio.

I've seen some having the audio working and some not while some other choosing VoodooHDA, but for that particular voodoohda, I've had always harsh and bad sound with it, I'm not going to use it for now!

Have any one succeeded in letting the sound to work? Or should I stick with sequoia for the moment until an AppleALC update?

AppleHDA / ALC can be restored via MyKektInstaller or OCLP-MOD

I've disabled the SIP, installed MyKextInstaller, rebooted, downloaded the KernelDebugKit installed it, copied AppleHDA back to documents, then copied it to desktop, then ran MyKextInstaller, installed the AppleHDA, it told me to reboot, rebooted. But after the reboot, the AppleHDA is not loaded!

Same thing for me too....nothing works...even voodooHDA

I would like to point out that I am using VoodooHda , installed with this package https://github.com/chris1111/VoodooHDA-Tahoe and Sip 01000000 , 100% working

Anyway, I uninstalled everything related to VoodooHDA,

changed SIP to 03080000

Installed the latest KDK build_25B5042k (since i have installed Tahoe Beta1
on Tahoe Release use KDK build_25A353 )

Rebooted and reset NVRAM so the new SIP settings take effect.

Installed MyKextInstaller v1.4  https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361340-mykextinstaller/page/12/#findComment-2841291

did that until the step where i have to reboot because mykextinstaller prompted me, and then kernel panic!

is there any way to fix that?

Try changing the SM BIOS to Mac Pro 7.1

Sadly, i just started Sequoia installation a few seconds ago!

Just a thing, please, before i installed the AppleHDA i did a mount partition button, and immediately started installing the kext! Is it that, the cause of the Kernel Panic on the boot process?

Guys please, i don’t want to bother anyone, but, would someone of you guys, make a steps more clearer, so i can follow them easily, with images if possible?

I really appreciate your efforts, and I really want to keep that Tahoe, because it really took my like!

I do no why I don't have this option enabled:

Screenshot2025-09-28at12_44_02.thumb.png.a29c6a80a81694d371d375742ae700fe.png

While I followed those steps mitically:

1- Well , i've installed OCLP-Mod

2- Then installed KDK for Tahoe Release: KDK build_25A353 as you suggested

3- Then used SIP set to 03080000

4- Then loaded AmfiPass.kext version 1.4.1 into my config.plist from ESP\EFI\OC\Config.plist, copied it to => ESP\EFI\OC\Kext folder

5- Then rebooted

6- Now, when i start OCLP MOD and selected the patch ( AppleHda ) in the settings to then apply it, the option as bellow is grayed out, and I can't know what is in English because of Chinese language.

Is there any step i have skipped?

Here are the steps that I did, and resulted in a successfully working Audio, according to your first suggestion:

Yes, that's exactly what caused the Kernel Panic at boot Process

Well, thank you @Anto65 , the sound now is back, and works as it was intended, like before that Apple did that Weird Trick!

I'll continue now to solve one left issue with my hack: The wake ^_^

@ammoune78
Analyzing the image you posted, the reason for your Kernel Panic and your audio not working is that you are using the wrong KDK, you should use KDK 26.0_25A353 for macOS Tahoe 25A354, lately Apple has not released the KDK for the correct version of macOS, I hope this changes.

I'm back to kernel panic at boot :hysterical:, when i did the following:

1- Disabled the AmfiPass.kext from Kernel booting

2- Set the SecureBootModel to Disabled

3- Reverted the csr-active-config back to 00000000

Do i have to enable them back all or just one or two options from the bellow, to have back audio and no KP?

If i install the KDK-25A353, will AppleHDA.kext be there? Because i didn't see it, from my last check, and i think only the 25A5279m version that contains it if i'm not wrong!

As you can see from the screenshot bellow, there is no AppleHDA.kext on the KDK-25A353! Or if it is on another location, please, point me there.

Open MyKextInstaller and send me a screenshot.

Here's, but I've deleted the KDK-25A5279m and installer 25A353 to see again if there's the AppleHDA.kext inside the Extensions folder, this is why MyKextInstaller shows the 25A353

Okay, after installing the correct KDK, did you install AppleHDA again?

Do the following: Restore the Snapshot and install AppleHDA again using the correct KDK.

But The correct KDK doesn't have a AppleHDA.kext, so that's why I used the one inside the KDK-25A5279m, knowing that I'm on the System Version: macOS 26.0 (25A354).

If you think that the AppleHDA.kext is inside the KDK-25A353, please let me know it's path!
