Tech5G5G
Hi, Whenever I sleep my Hackintosh (power button, close lid, Apple logo > Sleep) and wait for a couple minutes, I find that it has shutdown. I think this may be due to my hibernation being incorrectly configured. I am fine with disabling/removing hibernation if needed. cfmwan
It may be caused by the USB configuration error! Check it out. 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361677-sleep-turns-into-shutdown/#findComment-2840668 Share on other sites

There are so many factors that can cause this, especially the lack of a hot patch created by Rehabman for laptops. But nowadays, depending on the hardware and the macOS you intend to install, only by testing all the required patches step by step may this solve the problem. There are Bluetooth patches, patches for various SSDs, battery patches, Opencore and Clover (Kernel) patches, power nap settings, etc. I have two laptops that took me about five months each to get everything set up the way I wanted. So I suggest checking out this advanced tutorial, among others, and if you need it, I'll leave my EFI as a reference. https://github.com/jsassu20/OpenCore-HotPatching-Guide For exemple, in boot args I have been used this: rtcfx_exclude=80-AB ACPI Patch I use this: And many others can be necessary And this SSDTS is necessary too for fix Shutdown and Restart PTWK is Prepare to Wake 1 1 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/361677-sleep-turns-into-shutdown/#findComment-2840703 Share on other sites
Tech5G5G
Would it be possible to disable hibernation and/or sleep entirely and instead just make macOS turn off the display? Tech5G5G
After following this guide https://github.com/badstorm/surface-pro-7-opencore/issues/133 and setting OpenCore as my first boot loader, I was able to get sleep working! Sadly, I won't be able to use the guide's instant wake because I prefer to use rEFInd over OpenCore. Would you care to explain why you prefer rEFInd over OpenCore?
