I am now testing on a fresh install coupled with replacing all my other Apps.

Tried the App on Tahoe and Sonoma. Whilst it works as described, there is no movement in the progress bar.

Also the percentage output stays at zero right up to the point of completion.

I don't hold out much hope that the situation will change on this fresh installation.

It is a trivial matter but at the same time annoying.

Now you can see why I am salivating at the thought of purchasing the M5 Mac Mini at launch.

Okay, I'll think about how to solve this.

I think you'd still grumble.:hysterical:

I wonder what's preventing the progress bar from appearing in your case and LockDown
Using the same app, it works here. I think the reason lies elsewhere 🤔

Morning Bro.

Me thinks you know me too well, have you been talking to my wife?

You could be correct about the problem being elsewhere.

I have conducted the test on a clean installation in two ways now with the same negative results.

I installed to a Separate Disk and then onto System Disk.

No change in progress bar or percentage output, yet each time the installation is flawless.

Other Apps that indicates progression bars all work as should so I don't know why this App is showing different.

In all other aspics the App works quite well despite that minor glitch.

Please try this option:

MacOS Install.zip

Just tried it on Sonoma... it works the same.

I don't know if it has anything to do with it. I'm using this SIP value: 67080000

Edit :

Even the new version posted now by sergey works the same

... I talked to a NASA engineer and he said it can be done. 🙃

I have a hunch that this NASA engineer is the same engineer who developed MyKextInstaller.:hysterical:

Make an All in One , merge startinstall and createinstallmedia together  🙈  😅

Transfer the Installer

on the current Volume in use

on a separate Volume

on a USB drive

Why not? At the moment, I just lack motivation, not technical ability...:P

Situation unchanged with latest.

Whilst it is commendable that you're going the extra mile for @LockDown and I to have the full UI effect of the App, It is proven by @Anto65 beyond any doubt that there is no fault within.

The fault is more probable at our end so in my opinion just to cater the App for just us two who reported a glitch, will probably prove detrimental to other users by the constant changes.

I have even been trying to see if there is a common denominator between @LockDown specs and my own as to why this is happening but as it stands, I am no more wiser.

This is not related to the startosinstall utility. It should work for everyone, if it does not work for everyone, then the problem is in the program. Try this option if it is not difficult for you, please.

Since it is much, much faster than the conventional way to install macOS, it would be very useful if it can be used on real Mac machines.

Great job on the App!!! Very impressive!!!. Thank you.

Ok. And thank you very much for testing! Yes, it can be used on a real Mac.

@Sergey_Galan when you say that SIP must be disabled to install in a separate volume, can I install it if the SIP defined for that separate volume is <01000000>? Is there data loss when choosing to install in a separate volume?
