@laobamac_yyds and everyone else in this thread, your work helping others to get Tahoe work in some many different configurations and scenarios is amazing and commendable. I have a quick question about OCLP-MOD as I’m not using OCLP for hackintosh: before and after applying OCLP-MOD patches for AppleALC to work, do I need to have lowered SIP settings? If yes, what are the risks I’ll face when having such lowered SIP. What would be the less risky lowered SIP configuration that would work with OCLP-MOD patched audio? I was reading the comments and wanted to confirm that I need to lower SIP settings to install and then keep having a working Apple ALC. My Tahoe beta2 only have audio through the DP connected to the monitor via chained TB.

Why would you use OCLP if sound is working? I have it working through Hdmi and i dont need OCLP. At least not for the sound. Waiting for OCLP WiFi patch, if it ever comes.

Require 0x308 at least and AMFIPass.kext.But if you only use HDMI/DP audio,you have no need to install OCLP,it's merely for AppleHDA.

@jlrycm当然，你只需要将 CSR 值设置为 03080000，加载 AMFIPass.text，并安装 OCLP-Mod 的音频补丁（在最新 Action 中下载编译好的附件）。重启后，你就能获得一个完美无瑕的 AppleHDA！而且 0x308 只是禁用了执行位，相对 0xFF0F 来说更安全。（Sequoia 的 AppleALC 配置请保留，只需将 AppleALC 升级到 1.9.5 即可）

@laobamac_yyds I forgot to ask you something (and sorry if someone else already answered this in the thread, it takes time to catch up as there’s a lot of very helpful information shared here): Do you understand /expect that the change made in Tahoe beta 2 in how audio is handled will be permanent and stay in the final release?

As @laobamac_yyds says, root patched systems get full updates. Not T2 systems need revpatch=sbvmm to get updates notifications.

its not a direct copy, it use coding template like the other patch, I do read your code so I have add credit to file, thx for remind me..

 

btw the original author is Dortania Team, with Opencore Legacy Patcher, so please give a link to original repo in your repo..

I visited this thread a while ago and returned to find the same discussion.  It's just like watching my soap operas.  If I miss a week of episodes, I didn't really miss anything.  

 

For those developing OCLP forks, you might want to give an extra special thank you to Apple for including AppleHDA in Tahoe Beta 1 before they pulled it in Beta 2.  Is it possible that wasn't an accident?

@laobamac_yyds Very impressive!  Unless I misunderstood the AppleHDA fix, it appears that you're restoring AppleHDA.kext in System/Library/Extensions.  If that is the case and I'm understanding correctly, what is it about AppleHDA.kext that prevents us from injecting AppleHDA.kext via our CLOVER or Open Core boot loaders?  Thank you for tolerating my naive question.  Well done.
