I am having a heck of a time getting the right CPU identified in about this mac. I have a Core 2 Duo E6600 (2.4 Ghz) and it is only being recognized as 1.8 Ghz. I replaced loginwindow, smibios and SPPRofiler to mitigate the about this mac crash, and it still reports 1.8 Ghz. I had this CPU on an Asus P5L-VM 1394 and all was well, but not on this ASrock. I now have the E6400 on the Asus, and all is well, so I cloned that install and popped it in to the ASrock, and it shows 1.8 Ghz. However this CPU in the Asus shows 2.7 when it's OC'd (correct) and 2.4 when it's not OC'd (normal). Anyone know what's going on here with the ASrock? Can someone share with me their proper settings from this mobo? BTW -- I'm running 10.4.8 Semthex ISO Dvd install, if this is helpful? And one more thing, I ran Xbench and this E6600 really is running at 1.8 and not just showing it. My score was about 109, while my E6400 is around 158. Thanks in advance. /mdg Upgrade your kernel with the latest script: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=33039 It won't still recognise the speed of your memory yet, but processor will have the correct speed and FSB will be set correctly. I downloaded the latest one posted on these boards, that did the trick, and I was then able to update the kernel. Thanks again! My Xbench scores went up from 109'ish to this, so now I know I'm running at the 2.7 Ghz it shows in about this mac.
