Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a serious issue with an APFS volume on my Hackintosh setup, and I’m hoping someone here might have some insight. I've attached two screenshots showing the full error output from  Disk Utility > First Aid (SOS) and the verbose terminal output.

System Overview:

Disk model : Crucial MX500 1TB (SATA SSD)
macOS version : Ventura

The problem:

Running  First Aid (SOS) from Disk Utility or from Recovery Mode fails with the following key errors:

error: btn: invalid key order: index 3 is greater than index 4 (should be less than)
fsroot tree is invalid.
The volume /dev/rdisk7s1 could not be verified completely.
File system check exit code is 8.
File system verify or repair failed. : (-69845)

This repeats for both the snapshot metadata and the fsroot tree. The fsroot tree is marked as invalid, and the system says the volume is corrupt and cannot be repaired.

Interestingly, this issue is affecting a Crucial MX500 SSD that is basically brand new and has been used minimally. SMART reports show no signs of hardware failure.

What I’ve tried :

* Booted into Recovery Mode and ran Disk Utility – fails.
* Tried `fsck_apfs -y /dev/rdiskXsY` – also fails with same `invalid key order` error.
* Attempted backup via Finder/Terminal – not consistently readable.
* Re-seated SSD and verified SATA cables.
* No unusual power loss or forced shutdowns were noticed recently.

Questions:

1.  Is there *any way* to rebuild or recover the fsroot tree?
2. Is there a recommended tool or method to recover data or fix APFS structure outside of macOS tools?
3. Could this point to a firmware compatibility issue with Crucial MX500 under Ventura or Hackintosh environments?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
