Hallo and thank you for looking at this.

I've just made a bootable USB Clover and used it to get into an EFI shell. I'm really dissappointed to find out that half the keyboard doesn't work! I've tried a wired keyboard too-it is not my hardware.

The shift keys don't work, so there is no colon. Well, if you need to type FS0: guess what? Game over!

I've found nothing here but elsewhere online I found a reference to a bug back in June 2019

I'm having the same problem. Shift key not working in the EFI shell, need to type a very important ":" colon. Anyone have a workaround for this?
It appears to be an issue on Clover, no idea of when will it be fixed.

The same forum also had this:

[r4928] allow shift key in search string

So am I experiencing the same thing six years later? Surely it is not the same bug still waiting to be fixed!
But it really does look like it.

I'm trying to build a fairly ambitious RAID set up with Linux and Windows 11 but its not working.
I thought Clover might be the answer and I've read all this stuff about an amazing EFI shell that you can fix all sorts of stuff with, but I can't use it because I can't type a colon!

Seriously, has anyone here ever actually used the EFI shell and if so, please tell me how you managed to type in the basic commands? Or does it just work for some people and not for others?

Thank you,

Mick
