Fortitude Posted March 27, 2025 Share Posted March 27, 2025 I managed to natively install macOS Ventura on a QNAP TS-1685, and am running into problems with sleep/wake. Sleep works after applying some ACPI patches, but wake causes the LCD panel to display “Checking Memory,” and my devices remain disconnected. Nothing else happens afterwards… This check normally appears during the startup process, so I’m assuming that the NAS rebooted? The display normally gets stuck on “Booting...” while running macOS so maybe the display output is useless? (The display still says “Booting...” while the NAS falls asleep which is quite hilarious.) My ACPI patches also seem necessary in order to fix sleep/wake on Windows/Ubuntu. Sleep wasn’t working until I applied these patches, and I have identical wakeup issues to macOS. I’m unsure if QNAP provided firmware support for sleep/wake, if I’m missing ACPI code due to the additional hardware that I’ve added, or if there really is a memory check that’s happening. Any ideas on how to patch my ACPI tables, or modify the BIOS to solve this? I’ve attached my EFI, ACPI tables, and a complete dump of my BIOS settings. Slice Posted April 20, 2025 Share Posted April 20, 2025 I’m not sure if it helps but I can advise to apply Clover’s standard set of ACPI patches. Sometimes it cures sleep/wake issues.
