Hi,

I'm getting back to Hackintosh after few years off.

I'm on Ubuntu, this is the only system I have right now and I'm trying to make a fresh Hackintosh installation On my GA-Z270X Gaming K5.

I followed a tutorial with OpenCore, which I never used before.

I booted the USB stick and got this message:

"OC: grab zero system id for SB. this is not allowed"

Do I have to edit the config.plist ?

Maybe someone could have somes advices for me and make a USB Installer on Ubuntu ?

Thanks

Hi fellas @miliuco and @Skaz

I would recommend you start with Opcore Simplify and then fine-tune your installation with the other necessary SSDTS. Alternatively, you can start with one of the basic EFIs from Olarila.com that our moderator @MaLd0n prepares.

Then you can use OCAT (Opencore Legacy Patcher) or Opencore Configurator, and finally, if you are used to Clover, just pass everything there, and you also have the option of these EFIs for free on Olarila.com.

Good luck. Greetings to you and the Master @miliuco.  An important note, that there is no way to use it in Ubuntu, except for compatible config.plist readers.

Hi to both of you,

I think my bios is correctly set up. I followed a tutorial for my motrherboard specificly.

SecureBootModel is Disabled.

I tried OpenCore Dortania installation guide but no way to boot OC.

I don't understand what do you mean? OpenCore can't be use in Ubuntu? The OpenCore Installation ?

I succeed to virtualize Lion but all the software I 'd like to use can not be run, Lion is to old. Even Clover installation failed everytimes.

I have an SSD with a Catalina installation image I made on a iMac and plugged to my MB, I would like to have at least an USB bootloader who work fine on my machine.

Anyway I tried a lot of things but no way to succeed. I'm surprised that there is no more solution on Linux system.

Thank for your advises I will take a look.

Hello, I would like to know which system you intend to use, because if your hardware is the same as your signature, I would recommend the Ventura. But I believe it would not be possible to use your Nvidia GT GT430 1Go, so you need to check if it has onboard video to upgrade the integrated Intel graphics card. Probably Kaby Lake.

For now, you can try using an Opencore parameter EFI from this github user. Then you can try using OCAT (Opencore Auxiliary Tools) or Opencore Configurator, but remember to redo your mapping.

And use boot-arg -wegnoigpu to block the external video card. Need study a little bit. OC or Clover will boot (only boot) any system, Linux, Windows, etc.

But preparing the EFI from scratch, which is what I understood I would like to do, will not be possible. So if you are going to adjust any parameters, I suggest using Windows native, not virtualized, and because it is easier to install on practically 99% of machines, with Opcore Simplify you can get an EFI from "scratch" almost ready. You can use an external HD/SSD to install it. Than you will get great chances to install with this EFI from Opcore Simplify, but don't use Sonoma or Sequoia. Use Ventura, Monterey, Catalina, or Big Sur. Try Olarila EFI basics. I do for my machines, it's safe and trustable. Many sons of Hitler not agree, but its poison on his mind.

Hi,

I succeed to build my USB installer because I had access to an iMac the last weekend. So Opencore is booting fine. The apple logo appear but the loading stop at 50%.

Do I have the possibility to launch Opencore with somes boot args like we used to with Chameleon and Clover ? In verbose mode maybe ?

I can not have access to a genuine Mac as I whish so.. Thank you

Yet I used Z270x Gaming k5 and i5 7600 EFI folder. My graphics is set as internal graphics chipset, I waiting an Rx580 which a read that's natively supported.

I found information about boot args in Opencore, I will try.

So it was the IGFX I was right.

I put back my GT430 and the install is running right now.

So thanks anyway to those who help me first and to me finally😅

Maybe this card won't fully working but the time I swap with the Rx580 it helps.

I choose APFS for the system and HFS+ for the data, did I do well?

Yes I noticed that anyway the disk choosen for installation is automatically convert in APFS.

I started hackintosh with SnowLeopard on a Pentium 4 machine. A lot of things changed since. 😅 But still the same community spirit.

My system is running now. But no network

AtherosE2200ethernet.Kext should work but it doesn't. I have realtekRTL8111.Kext too but it doesn't either.

Any idea?
