Good Lucky ;)

i've tested both to no success, the laptop doesn't consider them bootable.

Two options then for a legacy install. Restore to usb using Disk Utility on macOS (can be a VM). Or use a DVD. I remember using a DVD of SL and nawcoms mod cd when I first started.

As for the emojis. You can put a space inbetween so they don't show...  : P

Was great times my friend!! :thumbsup_anim:

Just thought I'd tell you a couple.of months ago I put snow leopard on my dell d830 laptop very similar specs I think the only way I could get mine to do what you are wanting was with a dvd that I made from the file and then it worked perfectly

@Pwnz0rServer2009 I think you will need test in VM or something like that. ;)

my test results: the DMG works, but i can't test the USB since VMware can't boot from host USBs (or atleast i couldn't attach them) and virtualbox refused to even attach the USB on boot, bootable or not

(the DMG definitely works though :3)

i finally got the isos and DMGs to work just by shoving them into a easy2boot USB (suprised i didn't try that faster), but there's still some problems
ideneb 1.3 got error-icon-on-the-apple-leaf'd and e2b didn't like the way iATKOS ML was partitioned and refused to boot it

did a bit more testing, ideneb 1.6 has the same outcome as 1.3 and iATKOS S3 (which uses iso) just attempts booting a couple of times before kicking me back to the chameleon boot menu

edit: found an iATKOS  ML iso, saame forbidden-icon-on-apple-logo problem as ideneb

update, ideneb's outcome is the only proper one, all others were the result of corrupted isos

...now what? how do i fix it? (the last console message before the system hangs complains about it being unable to see the firewire security mode and it defaulting to full secure)

...e agora? Como faço para consertar? (a última mensagem do console antes que o sistema desligue reclama que ele não consegue ver o modo de segurança firewire e que ele é padrão totalmente seguro)

Sorry for not having all the knowledge in memory, as my old PCs are no longer available. I believe some here can go forward in memory and try to remember. Good luck anyway. Greetings.

  • 1 month later...

I guess I'll reuse this thread for my (hopefully working) burst of motivation to hackintosh

My hard drive is currently split for 2 OSes. 186 GiB for Windows 7 and 46 GiB for Linux mint (I'm planning to replace Linux Mint with a hackintosh : P )

it's been a while, so I'm quite nooby again. What's the easiest way to hackintosh this ancient (and uncommonly problem attracting, apparently) laptop while keeping windows 7 completely intact? (I need it for a hobby)
