dolphans1
Dear Hackers; I’m having issues in trying to install my older HP F2480 Printer , but drivers only go to Mac version 10.9, and I have Sonoma version 14.5 . I have an HP all in one printer/scanner, using a USB cable, and at first, it detected it when I added it under system settings, as a new printer, but I could never get the scanner to work/detect using image capture. So I tried installing an older HP printer driver update, and the printer then showed a red dot 🔴 on it, so I deleted and removed the printer in my systems preferences, but now my Mac does not see it, when I tried to re-add the same printer back on to it, I tried to find my older HP printer software for the printer online, but I've had no success yet. This HP printer of mine I mentioned above, works great on an older version of OSX. This printer does not have an Ethernet port, just a USB printer cable, so when I tried installing manually under ip Network. Any suggestions/recommendations or any ideas on what I should try to do next to resolve this issue? I have not contacted HP tech support , because it’s in the Philippines and it’s difficult. Just to note, I uninstalled all my HP drivers, and now Mac-Sonoma does not detect or even see my HP printer scanner, and it appears to have affected some of my USB ports? Now - Under OCAuxillary Tools - I get a message that pops up, that says the following, new version detected! Version: V20240004 Published at: 2024-10-13T02:06:14Z Release Notes: *New in Settings: Use your GitHub personal token to the GitHub API. Does anyone have any idea what that is telling me ? Because it's asking me to download and install, but I'm afraid to do so because I don't wanna break anything.
