intrax
convert your dmg image to iso, burn the iso to bootable cd/dvd, boot from cd/dvd and install.... before: do a lot of reading and searching on this forum then try and fail, fail again and later succeed to become an expert like the others... Rammjet
The 10.4.7 .DMG is a compressed DMG that the usual Windows/Linux utilities can't convert properly. It always drops some data in conversion. Only one person ever succeeded in converting the DMG in Windows. The DMG needs to be opened in OSX. There is an old thread on the board somewhere where a lot of people tried to convert and burn it in Windows and Linux, but the resulting DVD was always smaller than the original and wouldn't install OSX on the computer. You need the JaS 10.4.7 "repack" which is the same DMG converted to ISO in OSX. Rammjet
Can't remember right now what tool I used, but in the past had no problems converting DMG to iso's... Yes, but the compression scheme on this one baffled all utilities. They would create an iso usually missing the boot sectors so the DVD wouldn't boot. Or it would boot, but fail during install. As I said, a lot of people threw a lot of utilities at it and failed. Then months later, one person succeeded but didn't document his success. The DMG version of this should be pulled, but how do you stop internet propagation?
