gareth3020302 Posted July 25 Share Posted July 25 Hi All, I'm running Sonoma on my 2012 Mac Pro thanks to the fantastic open core and it's been working fine. I use Traktor dj software and I left the laptop running on its own yesterday for 8 hours without issue. Last night I was trying to use GoodSync to back my music collection up to my nas and after about half an hour the system completely froze and required a reboot by holding the power button down. After starting the system back up I resumed the sync and it crashed in less than 5 minutes. Here is the crash log - panic(cpu 2 caller 0xffffff80304b089b): userspace watchdog timeout: no successful checkins from WindowServer (2 induced crashes) in 120 seconds WindowServer has not exited since first loaded service: logd, total successful checkins in 14548 seconds: 1455, last successful checkin: 0 seconds ago service: WindowServer (2 induced crashes), total successful checkins in 14510 seconds: 1437, last successful checkin: 120 seconds ago service: opendirectoryd, total successful checkins in 14548 seconds: 1454, last successful checkin: 0 seconds ago service: configd, total successful checkins in 14548 seconds: 1455, last successful checkin: 0 seconds ago Panicked task 0xffffff8b6ea319d8: 3 threads: pid 113: watchdogd Backtrace (CPU 2), panicked thread: 0xffffff99d3b45b30, Frame : Return Address 0xfffffff51eed3520 : 0xffffff802d826481 mach_kernel : _handle_debugger_trap + 0x4b1 0xfffffff51eed3570 : 0xffffff802d98bb10 mach_kernel : _kdp_i386_trap + 0x110 0xfffffff51eed35b0 : 0xffffff802d97b0cc mach_kernel : _kernel_trap + 0x55c 0xfffffff51eed3630 : 0xffffff802d7bf971 mach_kernel : _return_from_trap + 0xc1 0xfffffff51eed3650 : 0xffffff802d82676d mach_kernel : _DebuggerTrapWithState + 0x5d 0xfffffff51eed3740 : 0xffffff802d825e13 mach_kernel : _panic_trap_to_debugger + 0x1e3 0xfffffff51eed37a0 : 0xffffff802dfdb3de mach_kernel : _panic_with_options + 0x89 0xfffffff51eed3890 : 0xffffff80304b089b com.apple.driver.watchdog : __ZN10IOWatchdog14userspacePanicEP8OSObjectPvP25IOExternalMethodArguments.cold.1 + 0x27 0xfffffff51eed38a0 : 0xffffff80304b0356 com.apple.driver.watchdog : __ZN10IOWatchdog14userspacePanicEP8OSObjectPvP25IOExternalMethodArguments + 0x2e 0xfffffff51eed38c0 : 0xffffff80304af41d com.apple.driver.watchdog : __ZN20IOWatchdogUserClient14externalMethodEjP25IOExternalMethodArgumentsP24IOExternalMethodDispatchP8OSObjectPv + 0x83 0xfffffff51eed39f0 : 0xffffff802df507a6 mach_kernel : __ZN12IOUserClient18callExternalMethodEjP25IOExternalMethodArguments + 0x86 0xfffffff51eed3a20 : 0xffffff802df50b1d mach_kernel : _is_io_connect_method + 0x31d 0xfffffff51eed3b90 : 0xffffff802d93393f mach_kernel : _iokit_server_routine + 0x3aef 0xfffffff51eed3cb0 : 0xffffff802d7fe82c mach_kernel : _ipc_kmsg_send + 0x55c 0xfffffff51eed3d70 : 0xffffff802d816e24 mach_kernel : _mach_msg_overwrite_trap + 0x5a4 0xfffffff51eed3de0 : 0xffffff802d8173ef mach_kernel : _mach_msg2_trap + 0x30f 0xfffffff51eed3ee0 : 0xffffff802d95ff1b mach_kernel : _mach_call_munger64 + 0x22b 0xfffffff51eed3fa0 : 0xffffff802d7bfdd6 mach_kernel : _hndl_mach_scall64 + 0x16 Kernel Extensions in backtrace: com.apple.driver.watchdog(1.0)[2D007C64-EF78-3276-A014-C76E314452E2]@0xffffff80304ae000->0xffffff80304b0fff Process name corresponding to current thread (0xffffff99d3b45b30): watchdogd Boot args: keepsyms=1 debug=0x100 ipc_control_port_options=0 -nokcmismatchpanic Mac OS version: 23F79 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 23.5.0: Wed May 1 20:09:52 PDT 2024; root:xnu-10063.121.3~5/RELEASE_X86_64 Kernel UUID: 7B071FD2-9FDC-344E-8483-47EC972A105E roots installed: 0 KernelCache slide: 0x000000002d400000 KernelCache base: 0xffffff802d600000 Kernel slide: 0x000000002d4e4000 Kernel text base: 0xffffff802d6e4000 __HIB text base: 0xffffff802d500000 System model name: MacBookPro9,1 (Mac-4B7AC7E43945597E) System shutdown begun: NO Panic diags file available: YES (0x0) Hibernation exit count: 0 System uptime in nanoseconds: 14548498753613 Last Sleep: absolute base_tsc base_nano Uptime : 0x00000d3b5619bde5 Sleep : 0x0000000000000000 0x0000000000000000 0x0000000000000000 Wake : 0x0000000000000000 0x0000000db2c601da 0x0000000000000000 Compressor Info: 2% of compressed pages limit (OK) and 1% of segments limit (OK) with 1 swapfiles and OK swap space Zone info: Zone map: 0xffffff803a46a000 - 0xffffffa03a46a000 . Can anyone help with identifying the issue from the crash log? miliuco Posted July 25 Share Posted July 25 @gareth3020302 Please add a signature to your Account Details. I can't identify the exact issue. Is it a real Mac Pro? Are you using OpenCore or OCLP? LockDown Posted July 25 Share Posted July 25 It is probably your ethernet driver if its realtek. This happen when you transfer large files. Read Mieze's realtek guide if ever you're using it Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/359734-identifying-system-crash-on-sonoma/#findComment-2823339 Share on other sites More sharing options...
