InsanelyOne
I was just wondering if anyone knows why the ISO's (the JaS in particular) aren't zipped before they're released? I just ran a test of the JaS 10.4.8 ISO and it compressed to just 60% of the original size (down to 2.64GB). That would ease downloading considerably. ChiefWiggum
I dont know any reason ISOs are not zipped/rar-ed anywhere (linux distributions, downloads etc) I keep my iso image backus in zip format, saves a lot of space. Guest bikedude880
Ooh... I think I might know this one Some people might try to burn the zip file to a DVD, come here asking why it won't boot, and they'll be told off for being stupid. With ISO files though... This is a tricky one... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35918-why-arent-the-isos-distributed-in-zipped-format/#findComment-255871 Share on other sites
