daxia tst
Recently I setup A hackintosh on Sonoma, when are busy in patching, driving the device, EDID is found no way to inject. HW platform is Lenovo Thinkbook 13s G2 based on i5-1135 Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/358517-have-anyone-successfully-injected-edid-for-monitor-on-sonoma/ Share on other sites
Slice
Why not? If using Clover config.plist->Graphics->EDID->Custom= hext representation, for example 00FFFFFFFFFFFF00061021920000000000120103802115780AE9D59959538E2826505400000001010101010101010101010101010101DE21A07050841F30202056004BCF10000018DE21A07050841F30202056004BCF10000000000000FE005736353747003135345750310A000000FE0023333D486584AAFF02010A2020009A config.plist->Graphics->EDID->Inject=true Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/358517-have-anyone-successfully-injected-edid-for-monitor-on-sonoma/#findComment-2815718 Share on other sites

Even I placed both of them, also fail. I tried place the DisplayvendorID to system/library/Displays, unluky to find Sonoma without Displays directory Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/358517-have-anyone-successfully-injected-edid-for-monitor-on-sonoma/#findComment-2815724 Share on other sites
daxia tst
My FixEDID had been alike this way, LEN/819B is the venID and devID extracted under windows, so I double-clicked the internal display, modified these two items. Len819B.bin is the pulled bin file with EDID-Manager under win10, righside, resolution 1920x1200 is my add-in on afraid of macOS display without this WUXGA. daxia tst
This is the EDID placed in config.plist with OCAT Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/358517-have-anyone-successfully-injected-edid-for-monitor-on-sonoma/#findComment-2815756 Share on other sites
daxia tst
Hi Moderator, I am not sure if this can be counted as some progress. I placed the EDID kext to S.L.E instead of OC\Kexts, and found there is 27" Retina icon. But at bottom it is still showing unknow display. It is the display setting. When I tried to configure color profile, just found there are two unknown display options. So I tracked into its directory, just found two .icc files named with "Unknown Display" as file head. I am not sure if these files caused the problem, and if I blocked or renamed these twos will resolve the monitor EDID problem. I would suppose the one comprising of all FF must be problematic, the other one possible to work. So I will try rename it and block the FF one for a test. What will you say on it? daxia tst
unfortunately to find system automatically created another Unknown Display Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/358517-have-anyone-successfully-injected-edid-for-monitor-on-sonoma/#findComment-2815792 Share on other sites
daxia tst
Located where is my EDID problem, in real work Mac, EDID is injected under Display0/AppleDisplay, however, my faked one is injected under IGPU"2. Seems MacOS didn:t bind it to video output. But, most important is no solution found yet Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/358517-have-anyone-successfully-injected-edid-for-monitor-on-sonoma/#findComment-2815890 Share on other sites
Slice
It just means your iGPU is not supported. Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/358517-have-anyone-successfully-injected-edid-for-monitor-on-sonoma/#findComment-2815892 Share on other sites

Many thanks for your response, May I boldly suppose, if Shl628 customised Whatevergreen to be loaded, the EDID possibly will work and it might also resolve the black screen happened on his Whatevergreen? I will test Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/358517-have-anyone-successfully-injected-edid-for-monitor-on-sonoma/#findComment-2815893 Share on other sites
Slice
WhateverGreen is not a driver. It is patcher. If your graphics card has no appropriate driver in OS then you can live with restricted VESA graphics as is. daxia tst
many thanks, I just realised that neither EDID injection nor display bus mapping will work without proper iGpu driver loaded Quote Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/358517-have-anyone-successfully-injected-edid-for-monitor-on-sonoma/#findComment-2815919 Share on other sites
