The opencore menu picker takes considerable time to generate (7-8 sec). I am running a debug build.

Is there a way to disable it and boot straight to macos ? Boot to a fix partition, no need to scan.

As far as I know, to skip the scanning process and boot directly into macOS, you can make a tweak in your OpenCore configuration file:

  1. Locate your OpenCore configuration file.
  2. Search for the ScanPolicy section.
  3. Change the value to "0" to disable scanning entirely.

Hope this helps!

ScanPolicy doesn't disable devices and filesystems scanning, it scans ALL types of devices and filesystems instead.

@Siddharth Manthan asks how to boot directly to macOS. In config.plist >> Misc >> Boot >> Timeout set 0 to skip stop in the OpenCore menu. This disable timeout in seconds in the OpenCore picker before automatic booting of the default boot entry. ShowPicker=False to boot to macOS without OpenCore picker (thanks @antuneddu).

If anytime you want to stop at the picker, you must press space bar to stop automatic boot.

Will it still scan all the drives. Can you suggest a scan policy for fastest startup time ?

Unmm Timeout at 0 will not skip the scan it will remain silent in the GUI or in the context menu, it should be set to 1 (SECOND) to speed things up
Or if you only have OSX installed it is convenient to disable Show Picker in Misc ... after setting from Bios or via System Settings -> Startup Disk
