Dr. Evil
OK I've asked this question before about apple's default terminal program. Lots of time when I type a command, i need to go back through it and edit it. for example, sometimes you forget to put sudo in front of it, or sometimes you need to reuse a command just changing one word in the command, like a directory name. I Apples terminal, you can jump to start or end of line with shift + home or shift + end. It would be even more of a time saver if you could jump one word at a time using command key, but no luck. Anyway, i think i term is really good (tabs mostly) and I'd like to switch over, but...there is no way of jumping to start/end of line or one word at a time. Is there some key combination that I don't know of to do this, or even a way to configure it. Pressing home/end keys brings up tilde ~ character, maybe someway to configure it? I miss this functionality so much...real time saver! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35813-iterm-homeend-keys/ Share on other sites
Rammjet
Bookmarks menu -> Manage Profiles -> Keyboard Profiles -> click little arrow -> Examine both Global and xterm. -> Read current key settings or make new ones. (why do you guys make me download this stuff just to find out how to use it - only for you and not me?) Rammjet
Look at my number of posts. I help people plenty. But that's not to say it isn't occasionally frustrating. Besides, I wasn't angry, just a bit frustrated with the simplicity of the answer. Original Mac users know to explore all menus and their items to the right of the Edit menu because that is where all the real features go. Following that philosophy, the answer was revealed in about a minute.
