DaveyBoy20o2
Modified bios patch posted for Beermaster (havent tried it but is working for him) Beermaster Here's the deal... Many OEMs like compaq, HP and emachines utilized an 845/G/GV/GL "Imperial" board made by trigem. Beermaster Most OEMs didnt bother to finish the bios, anf the board only allocates 2-4MB vram to the onboard video (I845 chip) Beermaster This is a patched HP bios that will work on All Trigem Imperial based machines. Emachines T2XX series, many compaqs and generally many 845 oem reference boards with phoenix bios Beermaster This is a modified HP bios happily running on my E-machine, allocating 8 meg vram, making it enough for video driver to load properly
bigdog
How would one know if their board was the Imperial board? Is there a series of model numbers?

Big Kahuna
similar issue with Dell, after updating bios on an i845 (using Dell bios) I was able to adjust the UMA memory
xer0
Will this also work on a Dell Dimension 4500s? The Dell Bios doesn't allow any allocation of video ram and they haven't made a new bios for the 4500s in years.
