Well, until either there is an official VMware Tools package for OSX guests (doubtful this will happen, as Apple will not allow anyone to legally run their OS on non-Apple hardware, which includes a virtual machine), or somebody writes an Apple driver for the VMware video card, you will be stuck with standard SVGA resolution.

Hi guys,

A quick question, is there any way to enable 1440x900 in a vmware installation?

By modifying com.apple.Boot.plist does NOT help, it just slightly increases the resolution from 1024x768 but still nowhere near 1440x900.

Any thoughts will be appreciated, thanks!

Press F8 at startup , at the boot options type "?video", this lists supported resolutions.

select one resolution you like.

now, at boot options type - "Graphics Mode"="----x----x32" (for vesa3.0 '@refreshrate' also).

if it works, edit com.apple.Boot.plist file and put it there.
