Hello,

My first topic, my first attempt to run Mac OS on my AMD X2 PC

Everything works fine.

But when i tried to configure my PCI Wireless DLINK dwl-g520 by applying the topic below

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...rt=#entry250524

the airport driver is loaded at boot and i see it with kextstat : A i r P o r t A t h e r o s 5 4 2 4 . k e x t

but in system.log, just after the the ethernet address of my Wireless card is displayed, another message says something goes wrong :

"no aiport driver found"

of course there is no airport device turned on in network devices

What to do ?

  • 4 weeks later...

I get finally my wireless card recognized by (partially) applying steps listed in the following thread :

Many thanks theofan1960 :tomato:

That is :

1. Grab the Intel 10.4.5 update from the Apple Website: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/mac...45forintel.html

2. Mount it on your desktop (Double-click in it)

3. Copy the file IO80211Family.kext from the folder "/System/Library/Extensions" of the update and paste it to the one of your system "Volume Name/System/Library/Extensions/"

4. Repair permissions using Disk Utility or terminal or you can do it manually

5. Reboot and you should have the D-Link dwl-g520 card is automatically recognized as an airport.
