I will use it for average student stuff, and some vid editing, and lots of game playing. The MBP is a computer that will "last longer" with the Firewire 800 and Firewire 400 ports more devices can be hooked up. It will work out better for your video editing. Also the MBP has greater expandability with the Expresscard 34 slot. So as new technologies are developed you can simpley add an adapter and use that technology. I don't know just thinking about what I would say if I needed to convince my parents to pay for the upgrade to the MBP. Just help them to understand that this is a wise purchase that won't be obsolete 6 months down the road. I just leave the graphic as an added bonus!!
