Hi Everyone.

After few unsuccessfully attempts to install catalina on my HP Elitebook 820 G3 using a build that won't be mentioned here I wonder if I can gather good advice here as I take since my first Vanilla install made years back lot has changed.

My HP Elitebook has 16 GB ram running 2.4 Ghz so it would be enough to run Catalina as my Current MAcbook is now too old to run an update I need and payed for, so instead of splashing $$$ for a new or even second hand macbook I thought to give it a spin.

But over here I really don't know were to start.

Much Appreciate any help

Look on github for an EFI for hardware as close as possible to the hardware you have, how to configure BIOS, and confirm you

booting from GPT formatted media.

Older HPs usually require kernel lapic to be enabled in config.plist.

You can find details on this site to download a full installer and make a bootable USB if you don't have any mac os installed already.

You should be able to install a newer mac os than Catalina.

It will work up to Monterey without special hacks. For Ventura and Sonoma you need special efforts to make HD520 working.

Lan I219 will work with my fork IntelMausiEthernet

WiFi Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 802.11 should work with itlwm. Check variants.

Sound Connexant will work with VoodooHDA if it has usual interface. After installing macOS looks IOREG and show us.

Repoted from forums:

Newer mac os advise to update SMBIOS.

The following 3 attributes are essential to get working graphics acceleration for Skylake on macOS 13:

Intel HD 520 can opt for Intel HD 620's Device ID: 0x5916 to Little Endian 16590000 to device-id property.
    inject boot-arg: -disablegfxfirmware

Required device-properties reference format for Intel HD 520:

AAPL,ig-platform-id     00001B59       DATA
device-id               16590000       DATA

Added boot arg -igfxsklaskbl to enable Skylake processor to load and use Kabylake graphics kexts

THanks, I found an EFI HP 840 G3 Folder but stucked in the process of making the bootloader, I need to sit down and understand  the all matter, tried a distro again and managed to enter the installation process but when it was over it reset the laptop bacl to the boot page
