GuyEvans
Hello, I was hoping someone might be able to help me please. I'm struggling to get a working bootable version of Ventura. I have a HP Z800 computer with 28GB of RAM 250GB SSD Drive (formated to Mac OSX journaled - GUID) Sapphire RX580 GPU (Mac Compliant) BCM94360CS2 Wifi Card and PCI Express Adaptor (Mac Compliant) and I'm trying to follow these successful instructions from another member on here. Here is the link below: I've been following the Open Core Legacy install instructions, and I have got Ventura copied over to my 16GB USB INSTALL STICK. I've created the EFI Folder by running the following command in Terminal : sudo ~/Downloads/OpenCore/Utilities/legacyBoot/BootInstall_X64.tool (It creates an EFI folder containing a file called 'Boot' (not bootX64) could this be part of the problem? I've copied the EFI folder over from the post (linked above), and have changed the serial number by loading in Open Core Auxiliary Tools / Pi and clicking 'Generate'. But when I go and try and boot my machine, it boots to this screen: I don't see my SSD at all. If I click on Install MacOS Ventura and it runs in verbose mode and then the screen goes black after a few minutes (but still displays a signal on my monitor). Sometimes it also reboots. I've attached my efi folder, and any help would be great. I'd be so happy if I could get a working Ventura on my system. This must be possible, somehow? I've got an identical system, apart from my mac compliant Wifi card, and my RX580 (not RX570) - although both GPU are mac compliant. Thanks in advance if anyone can help me. I've been trying so long to try and solve this, but have only basic knowledge. EFI.zip Edited August 3 by GuyEvans added extra info

But when I try to install, it shows the apple logo and progress bar, but stops then and then the screen goes black. It doesn't reboot but just has a black screen. I can't see the Hard Drive activity LED light blinking either. I'm not sure how to debug this. Any help would be much appreciated. I have an almost identical system to yours. HP Z800 and AMD Radeon RX580 GPU (Sapphire). I was really hoping I could get this to work, and I'd be so grateful if anyone can help me solve this. mek21
Did you look on github for an EFI to find a close match to your hardware?

Hi thanks, Yes the EFI folder is almost identical to my own system (Same computer HP Z800, same GPU, different WIFI - but mine is also mac compliant wifi card from Macbook Pro (with PCI Express adaptor). I'm knowledgable on Hackintosh but not so much with OpenCore. I was assuming this EFI would work straight away, as once again my sysem is almost identcal to the user: Sok5 (who kindly shared their EFI). cankiulascmnfye
As far as WiFi is concerned: the Broadcom card requires Post-Install root patches in macOS Sonoma which need to be applied with OpenCore Legacy patcher. If the card is not detected by the patcher you have do use a workaround to enable the patch as explained here: https://github.com/5T33Z0/OC-Little-Translated/blob/main/14_OCLP_Wintel/WIiFi_Sonoma.md

sok5
Yes, I used on board for bootable usb (installation) and usb3 for keyboard and mouse during installation, after installing completed. I used OpenCore legacy patcher, on board usb is working fine after that. I ran in the same problem. When installation completed, it reboot from 5-10 times.
