osxonmylaptop
Hi, I loved your picture because I have the same problem! I can boot with -x (safe mode) and video goes perfect at 1280x768. I installed gma950 extension (10.4.7 jas) but nothing, tryed to change resolution editing com.apple.Boot.plist, but nothing. Did you solved it? helpimafish
Hi, i have exactly the same problem as you. i can only run in safe mode. we seem to have similar hardware. does your audio work? if so how did you get it to? when i run in safe mode i have no graphics driver though, therefore i can not watch videos or run screensavers smoothly any help greatly apreciated. cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35723-big-startup-problem/#findComment-342705 Share on other sites
osxonmylaptop
Listen: I've moved (or delete) all Intel .kext from /System/Library/Extension to a backup folders, removed Extensions.kextcache and Extension.mkext and now it boots OK (normal mode) Then reinstaled GMA950 support from JAS 10.4.7 DVD and now have Core Image and Quartz Extreme Supported Great! I read this from another post. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35723-big-startup-problem/#findComment-342813 Share on other sites

osxonmylaptop
I'm working on it, I passed like 2hrs. searching in the forum and it seems even harder than I did with dual boot and graphics, but I'm tough... With video working I can play a DVD great. I deleted AppleHDA.kext but does not work... osxonmylaptop
You are welcome, I agree with you this forum is awesome. Sorry you first say how did I solve the video problem, then you say it worked... I have 10.4.8 ISO to burn now, I've read it will not solve the sound problem (of coarse) but at least I'll have a newer version. Let me know what else you want to know, I must give back what I got from the forum.
