Thico Alves
I'm here again! The fact is that I'm having a little problem with my HD. Well, it's not a "problem", it's just that all HD access are really SLOW on my hackintosh. I have a Foxconn 760GXK8MC with SiS 760GX chipset. When I run my MacOS 10.4.8 (semthex TEST1 DVD) on VMWare it goes really fine with file management. I can copy big files in seconds, just like windows do. But when I run it nativally, files takes ETERNITY to be copied/readed... for an example, it takes about 3 minutes to copy a file of 280MB.. what can I do? It's a problem with my IDE controller?? Can it be solved? thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35696-now-a-harddrive-question-ide/ Share on other sites
Hagar
SiS controllers can be a pain, but as a guess (& only a guess mind you) it might be worth trying to add you DEV/VEN Id to AppleOnboardPCATA, particularly if you find you're running AppleGenericPCATA (check in system profiler) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35696-now-a-harddrive-question-ide/#findComment-254180 Share on other sites
Thico Alves
hmmm...good idea, it's loading AppleGenericPCATA, but on AppleOnboardPCATA I couldn't find a good place to put my device ID on it. It seems a driver for just particular dispositives, listed here: AMD CS5535 ATA AMD CS5535 PCI ATI IXP ATA ATI IXP PCI NVIDIA nForce ATA NVIDIA nForce PCI ServerWorks ATA ServerWorks PCI can I put my ID on any of those dispositives? thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/35696-now-a-harddrive-question-ide/#findComment-254188 Share on other sites
