keys88
I have a dell inspiron 9300 which has a sigmatel c-major STAC9750 sound card. The sound worked perfectly with the old kernel (8.4.1). With 8.8.1, both exp1 and exp5, the audio gets strange. At first the sound will be perfect, but if the fan is off and then goes on, the audio will de-sync which results in crackling. Another way for the audio to get de-synced is if I add a dashboard widget. I have Titan installed with QE/CI, but I still don't get the ripple effect. The audio de-syncs during this quasi-ripple effect. iTunes/QuickTime can re-sync after a couple of second, but after re-sync the sound card can only play from audio source at a time - for example, if iTunes is playing, QuickTime's audio won't work simultaneously, and system sounds won't work simultaneously. I tried using the AppleAC97Audio.kext and AppleFAN.kext from 10.4.4 with no improvement. Any help or ideas would be appreciated. keys88
See if this helps: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?s=&...st&p=251505 Tried both of those, but still no change. Update: Everything works reliably with the latest kernel and 10.4.8 combo update.
